Across town, the Born Performance Alliance operates pop-up stages inside the Central Market Hall on 9th Avenue, where three troupes staged new works last weekend for $18 tickets. Both sites emerged from meetings held in March at the Riverside Library branch.
Attendance data from the Born Cultural Office shows 4,200 tickets sold for these community productions between January and June, compared with 3,100 in the same period last year. Organizers report average production costs of $2,400 per show, funded through neighborhood dues and small business sponsorships along Elm Street.
