Healthcare and Housing Allocations

The 31 million euro plan targets two housing blocks for renovation into 81 elderly homes and 18 flats. An additional 14.3 million euros within the same budget line will fund public space upgrades through 2028. The Joint Commission decision to speed up the 11 centres directly includes the Barceloneta project, linking the clinic purchase to a wider timetable for primary care delivery.

Parc Sanitari Pere Virgili will oversee operations at the new CAP Barceloneta site during the transition period. The purchase covers the former clinic plus three adjacent buildings, providing the physical footprint for expanded services. This step forms part of the same commission framework that set the priority list for all 11 centres.

Coastal Zone Acquisition Totals

Barcelona authorities completed the official acquisition of 62.8 hectares of coastal land between Barceloneta and Sant Adrià de Besòs. The land carries an exclusive public use designation, backed by more than 100 million euros earmarked for coastal zone development. The hectare figure and the investment commitment sit alongside the 31 million euro neighbourhood plan, showing separate but simultaneous spending lines.

The 62.8 hectare total represents the measured extent of the transferred coastal strip. Development funding above 100 million euros will address infrastructure on that land. Both the healthcare and coastal figures appear in council records that detail the scale of current approvals.
