New All-Through Schools Expand Access Citywide

Barcelona is adding new all-through schools starting in the 2025-2026 academic year, including La Flor de Maig, Els 30 Passos, Enric Granados and Tomàs Moro. These additions bring the city total to 26 such centers, giving families in neighborhoods like Barceloneta additional structured pathways from early years through secondary education without changing schools midway.

Smaller Groups and Facility Work Target Quality

Plans for the 2026-2027 school year include reducing class ratios so that 73 percent of public centers in infant and primary stages aim for a maximum of 20 students per class. At the same time the city is carrying out 83 summer improvement projects at primary, secondary and all-through schools to upgrade facilities and support more equal learning conditions.

The private special education center Lexia in Gràcia will also join the public network in 2026-2027, widening options for families who may need specialized support.
