Local advocates note that parents who previously traveled to adjacent districts for after-school activities may now use facilities within a ten-minute walk. At the same time, delivery drivers and shop owners along Avinguda Diagonal report that pothole repairs listed for the third quarter have been moved to 2027, extending current surface conditions for at least eighteen months.
Policy analysts say the budget document lists specific line items for each project, including an increase in community center staffing from 42 to 51 hours per week at the Casal de Barri. Elderly residents who rely on those centers for daytime programs stand to receive additional slots, while crews responsible for pavement marking on narrower side streets will operate with two fewer vehicles per shift.
The legislation states that remaining road work will be completed through existing multi-year contracts rather than new tenders, limiting immediate job losses among maintenance contractors but extending timelines for residents who commute by car or bicycle through the affected corridors.
Next steps include publication of the final project schedule on the district website by 15 August and a public information session scheduled for 22 August at the district offices on Carrer de València. District staff will accept written comments on the revised timelines until 5 September.
